Bread Machine Dinner Rolls - Lockdown and quarantine 2021

I love my little Sunbeam Bread Maker. It has made making bread, rolls, and any dough we make so simple and efficient. I purchased it for $59.00 at Walmart.

I will share some of our favorite recipes here, starting with this one I saw on the "Amy Learns To Cook" YouTube channel. She is adorable and her bread machine recipes are spot on. It was her videos that prompted me to get a reasonable costing machine and try it out. I use mine exclusively for making the dough.

One or more suggestions for all you bakers out there. Use a scale when you make the rolls. It is the easiest way to get consistent-sized rolls. Also, turn the baking pan halfway through the baking process. The rolls baking time is a suggested time, bake them until you know they are done (as my Chef Instructor always said), a hollow noise should sound when you tap their surface once out of the oven.

Here is Amy's recipe:

Ingredients:

1/4 cup vegetable oil
1 cup warm water, 110 degrees
1 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons sugar
3 cups bread flour
2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
1 tablespoon melted butter

Instructions:

Put the ingredients into the pan of your bread machine in the order recommended by your bread machine’s manufacturer. Select the dough setting and turn on the machine.

Upon completion of the dough cycle, remove the dough from the pan onto a floured surface. Cut into the number of rolls that you prefer depending on the size of the rolls that you would like (8 – 10 rolls). You can make these into small rolls or large buns for hamburgers. Shape into individual rolls and place on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Cover with a clean towel and let rise until doubled in size.

Bake in an oven at 350 degrees for approximately 20 minutes until brown and hollow when you tap on them. Bake time will depend on the size of your rolls and the temperature of your oven. 5 minutes before they are done, brush with melted butter.

I hope you try it and enjoy!

Stay home, stay safe, and help where you can.
