Homemade Danish Tartar Sauce / Relish for Sandwiches and Meat - Smorgasbord
I make my own tartar sauce whenever possible. It only requires a food processor and a few ingredients. It tastes exactly the way I remember from childhood when mom made fresh fish open-faced sandwiches. She also used this tartar on meat sandwiches, like roast beef and also on liver pate open-faced smorgasbord sandwiches. If you have ever admired a table setting of danish smorgasbord, you know how beautiful it is.
Here are the ingredients:
1 cup mayonnaise
1/2 cup sweet pickles - chopped
1 teaspoons curry powder
1 teaspoon dry mustard
1 tablespoon chopped onion
1 hard boiled egg - chopped
Mix all these ingredients and store in the fridge. I put all this in a food processor and chop it till it's a nice thick paste. This is good on almost anything, like seafood meats sandwiches and on the side.
